Anatolia Cafe: Bringing tasty Turkish flavor to town
It's a family-friendly restaurant bringing a long-overlooked ethnic cuisine to Cleveland. It's a chic cocktail wine bar with an extensive beer and wine list. It's a sophisticated eatery that caters to both an ethnic crowd and non-Turks alike. In fact, it's all of these.(more...)

Cleveland Heights Patch Bites Nearby: Anatolia Cafe: The restaurant offers a taste of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine and a sidewalk patio
Dining al fresco is a concept we Clevelanders need to be re-introduced to every spring, especially after a felonious winter battering like the one we took over the past few months. So when you’re finally ready to relinquish your fleece-lined mittens and emerge, you might want to consider dining al fresco at the Anatolia Café on Lee Road.(more...)

Anatolia Cafe: Turkish cuisine rules at this Cleveland Heights hotspot
Cleveland's culinary rise has been long coming. But it finally arrived in 2008, with the opening of Anatolia. Hey, what's a scene without Turkish cuisine? Even better, a Turkish Happy Hour. Yes, Anatolia serves up $5 martinis, $2.50 beers and $4 wines. But you won't find its $5 small plates anywhere else. OK, maybe the hummus and falafel. But not sigara borek. The crispy pastry dough filled with feta cheese and parsley is still a hit throughout the Balkans almost a century after the Ottoman empire collapsed. I can see why, in between bites and sips of my sangria. Turkish cuisine rules! Happy factor: 4 olives out of 5 (more...)

Dinner, Drinks & a Movie: Anatolia Cafe...
Anatolia really comes into its own in the entree category. The chefs are expert at grilling and roasting, and the mixed grill ($22.95) amply demonstrates that skill with a delectable sampling of juicy lamb and chicken kebabs, adana (chopped lamb deliciously spiced, shaped and grilled on a skewer), (more...)

Taste the Mediterranean at Cleveland Heights’ Anatolia Café
Fresh, wholesome, and authentic, the flavorful food coming out of Anatolia Café's kitchen hits just the right note between exotic and approachable. That probably explains the crowd on this Saturday night, an eclectic blend of ages and ethnicity all snuggled into comfy booths or sturdy tables in the relocated restaurant's new Cleveland Heights digs.(more...)

Anatolia Café Is Not Only Alive And Well, But Better Than Ever
Talk about turning lemons into lemonade. A little over a year ago, Yashar Yildirim was mourning the imminent demise of his three-year-old Turkish restaurant, Anatolia Café. Situated on the South Euclid side of Cedar Center, the popular eatery faced a premature death at the hands of an eminent-domain wrecking ball.(more...)

Best Kebab: Anatolia Café
Turkey's riff on the Greek gyro, the doner kebab, is a combo of highly seasoned beef and lamb, grilled on a rotating vertical spit; as the meat cooks, broad mahogany ribbons of it are cut away, with a very sharp knife, to be served over buttery rice. At the friendly Anatolia Café, where the Turkish food is fit for a king, the doner initially may look a little dry; in reality, though, it is mouthwateringly moist, yet completely grease-free.(more...)

Turkish Treat
Just down the street from the heart of the Cedar-Lee neighborhood,Anatolia Café is a welcome addition to the existing mix of pubs and restaurants. Relocated more than a year ago from Cedar Center, the Turkish bistro is much bigger than its original location but has retained its charm (and seemingly has no trouble filling the extra tables).(more...)

Best Restaurants 2011: The Turkish Table
How could there be just 2,000 Turks in Northeast Ohio and a 300 percent increase in Turkish restaurants in the past 12 months? Credit Yashar Yildirim and his pioneering Anatolia Cafe, open since 2007 in Cleveland Heights.
